I found RET after many years of traditional 'talk therapy'. The last conversation I had with the counselor of the moment went like this: Counselor:'Do you know that every time we get this close (holding her forefinger and thumb about an inch apart)to this particular subject I don't hear from you for a month?' Just to give credit where credit is due, she was and is a very good therapist and created open communication with me. My response: 'Every time we get that close to that particular subject I leave here a mess(usually sobbing), my friends come get me because I am too distraught to drive home, I usually take one or two days off from work and simply can't function. Tell me why I would call and ask to do that again?' I then told her I believed I had to find another way of dealing with my issues. She was encouraging and said she knew I would go to any length to resolve these issues (I was being treated for a post traumatic stress disorder). Within the week a friend called and told me about RET and I went to a Life Skills class with her. Coincidence? Divine guidance? Call it what you may, I made my first appointment that evening. My life is simply and wonderfully not the same. RET was the only method I found that significantly shifted my energy, and I tried MANY methods! Prescriptions, multiple talk therapy modalities, lectures, workshops, 12 Step programs, church, intimate relationships, the list goes on. I still believe all of these methods have their place and are valuable methods, they simply did not do what I was looking for---RELEASE! I love working with folks who really do desire change in their Lives, their energy systems, their Spirit! Especially those who know there is nothing left to lose and are willing to go to any length to get there. I have a love for folks with pasts that oftentimes find no place to express themselves.
